Hello Everybody, I am new to this forum. I am about to purchase a 2015 Scarab HO Impulse. All the video's i have seen about this boat tell me it is a fun boat to have. I have three grown children, 19, 21 and a 24. We are new to water sports. Anybody recommend to us of why we should not purchase this boat?

Hello and welcome! Sorry no one had responded yet.

I don't have one of those (obviously, from my sig and profile) and have not. Would you be buying from an individual or a dealer? Either way, a water trial is recommended. For a 2015, I would do a test of each cylinder to make sure your pressures are about the same in each.

I can tell you that a Scarab is a respectable brand. Questions frequently are as to how you clean out obstructions from the jet (Yamaha's have a cleanout port) as well as the maintenance schedule of the engines (some other brands have superchargers that need to be rebuilt periodically, etc.). As long as you have asked about those things and had you (or someone knowledgeable) look over the boat very well and do a sea trial, you should be good.

Where will you be boating and where is the boat? If the boat has been in salt, the proper maintenance of it is not always easy to detect. Always something to ask about and to look for as well as you can (corrosion or evidence of salt exposure, if they tell you it has not seen salt).

Hope that helps some. Hopefully some Scarab owners will chime in...
