2017 Best Yamaha Valued Boat

The way I see it, there are two features of the X/E series that can not be upgraded aftermarket (in a sensible way - that would make financial sense):
  1. E-throttles
  2. the large Yamaha bimini
Everything else can be had better and at less cost - aftermarket, IMO.

And from what I have read, most seem to agree the e-throttles and associated Yamaha Drive are worth the extra cost over a Limited S. Opinions vary on the bimini (I think it is awesome and want one).

That's right - I agree about the difference between LS and LSE which is less than 5k. However, I had seen LSs at BIG discounts, and the real difference/choice is between the AR and LS/X E - and that's a tricky one!

The difference between XE and AR is closer to 20k. To me that spells: a whole lotta mods!

I agree. And with the Ridesteady and PF who needs E throttles lol. But only thing I really want it the bimini top.

I'm not a fan of the cushions on the swim deck. I like how the AR 240 is. No cushions because we have so much traffic back there, plus it makes a great dance floor for the ladies ;)

And to be honest I think it's a joke they taunt the Stereo System. I would rather build my own that pay for that IMO.

So you are saying the E-series features are worth it? My kids are young still, but I think I would like a tower for me to do watersports (if I can teach the wife how to drive) even if it is a few times. I also think you hit the nail on the head with your highlighted comments above. That is my philosophy...just need to get the wife on board.

YES, worth every penny! Teaching her to drive with the Connext Drive Control is so EASY, I had my 9 and 11 year old driving using the Drive Control as their guide, all they had to do was steer and not worry about the throttle. There really are many quality upgrades that make it worth it, and if you can find a leftover deal, it just makes it even sweeter!

Good news is that those with seats, they can come out since they are snapped in!

My kids are young too but I was planning for the future when I got the E-Series, plus the extra large bimini is great for the wife and kids. I used to own a AR210 and taught my wife how to drive it while I wakeboarded. I think the E-series will be even better with the rider profiles, she will only have to worry about pushing the throttle forward and focus on steering, not looking back for hand signals to go slower or faster. Plus the e-throttles in general are just more intuitive for people who are not used to a Yamaha. No launching forward from a stop like the non e-throttles want to do. You can accelerate and slow down through the normal RPM/speed curve much easier with the e-throttles which is a huge improvement for people who are not used to it.

Great, Another way to stub my toes when cushions are removed lol

But those are dual density sea dek without the cushions tho right? I thought the cushions didn't sit on the dual density pads? Shows how much I know lol.
