Looks like they dropped the 6.2 and went with an upgraded ecoboost. 10 speed trans. might tow a little.
Also the standard 3.5 gets an upgrade in power.

When I considered a previous generation Raptor the allowable tongue weight was very low severely limiting the tow capacity.

I heard the suspension was a little mushy for towing. Just noting the change to ecoboost and hp upgrade. Maybe they will offer a HO 150. "non Raptor"

An aluminum bodied diesel F-150 with 30 MPG highway and 12,000 pound towing capacity sounds pretty appealing to me. I was sold on the Ecodiesel until the tow and cargo capacity was announced.

The 2nd gen ecoboost in the F150's produce 375 hp, and 470 ft lbs of torque. That is an impressive amount of torque out of a gasoline v6 engine. Could easily add another 100 ft lb's with the use of a tuner if you're brave. It has really got me thinking about trading my '13 5.0 in for a '17.

My 2015 eco tows my 210 effortlessly, I just cant drive by many gas stations. 65 mph on the highway I get 8 per the lieometer. Not towing I get avg 19 mpg 60/40 highway city

That is crazy. Do you have a 3.5 or 2.7?

But what if you wanted to dump a loader full of concrete blocks into the bed? Then you'd have holes in that aluminum....stupid commercial.

As stated above that's the issue with a boosted motor

Better fuel economy vs a NA v8 when not towing however when boost is required - towing or going at high speeds- it will suck fuel down at a much faster rate.

I had a flex with the ecoboost engine, impressive motor but speeds much over 75 mph I would be lucky to get 15 mpg.

Never considered a raptor as a towing machine, more of a Baha machine for high speeds offroad thus soft mushy long travel suspension.

What rearend do you have in that truck? I'm running a 2015 F-150 Supercrew 4x4 3.5 EB, with 3.55 rearend. Towing at 65, I routinely get 11-12 mpg. And I'm towing close to 6500 lbs.

Non towing interstate speed of 77 get about 19 mpg, commuting to work 50/50 I'm getting 20-21 mpg.

Is that mileage hand calculated or are you reading the gauges? I thought the 11-12 sounded right, but I've rarely met anyone that got 20-21 out of the 3.5. I have a 2015 2.7 2x4 with 3.31 rearend and I'm between 18.5 and 19.5 after every fill up hand calculated. I not in sport mode or goosing it either.

Anyone with a 2015 or newer 5.0? I'm considering the 5.0 and was curious of what gas mileage to expect.

11-12 is hand calculated, the 20-21 is off the trip page, miles traveled and gallons used, I'm running a 36 gallon tank and routinely run it down to 30-32 gallons before a fillup and it is never off by more than half a gallon fuel used on the gauge.
When I am towing, I am in tow-haul mode, 6th gear is locked out, and running on cruise control, it almost never shifts.

Next time you tow, try locking out 6th and see if it tows better.
I typically do drive it around in tow-haul mode or sport mode below 45, I like the shift points better, feels like it lugs down too much in normal mode which uses more fuel. I wonder if your taller 3.31 rearend is only making it worse.

I didn't know it but it seems I have the same truck as @trace. I'm seeing the same results he is.

So this had me looking up my towing capacity, and while I am embarrassed to admit this. . . . I was kinda shocked it was only 6600 lbs. Salesman told me it was 9200lbs and I just assumed it was the same or more then my 05' Expedition so I believed him. My JGC Overland has more towing capacity. . . and while it does have a 5.7L Hemi and 8Spd tranny. . . the 3.5L is supposed to be making the same HP and More Torque.

Got me over here scratching my head. . . .

So you have the 4x2 with 3.15 or 3.31 gears? Does your Expedition have the heavy duty tow package or not? If so then you would be at 9200 Lb's.
