I have an extremely slow leak in my port side ballast (a fitting I suspect.) I've been chasing this since the boat was new and suspected it was the impeller in the pump since I was never able to find anything wet. After changing the impeller and filling the bag I noticed a drip running off the wiring in the very back of the engine compartment up high where the ballast pump water line goes to the bag.

How do I disconnect the port ballast bag and get to the fittings? I don't see any way to crawl back there even if I took the batteries and everything out of the underseat compartment. It appears the carpeted board where the pump is mounted is glued in because when I took the screws out it wouldn't budge.

My old boat had a plastic pass through cover in the engine compartment on both sides, but this one does not.

Can you release the hose on the pump tie a string to it and pull the bag out with the hose . The string will follow the hose so you can pull it back when reinstalled.

I think its a huge job. First remove Port seat. Remove batterys and remove the wood wall. Then scroll
