2018 AR240 for 50k or the brand new AR250 for 61k

I would try to get the 2018 for 45k-47k. Especially if it has a full cover, galvanized trailer and possible stereo up grade.

This! Or look for a good deal on a 2019. That's when they revised the buckets and added GPS maps.

If you are a seller it is a great time to sell your boat. If you are a buyer, wait till the 25' footers start landing in dealerships or the winter boat shows. That will cool off the used 24' market no doubt. Which in turn could help with dealer/Yamaha incentives.

@Dodi5 $50k sounds a bit on the high end. How many hours and what upgrades are there? Does it include a mooring cover? Fins? Upgraded Stereo? Galvanized Trailer? Anything for watersports, wake board racks, etc. Post the full scenario including how many hours are on the engines, any issues with the boat and maintenance history if you can get it.
It has 40 hours , 2 amps , and upgraded 2 speakers

@Dodi5 Bid a bit low and see what happens for it. $46k ish. Make it worth your while. Negotiate. Maybe he is looking for a new boat and wants to sell or get out from under. Need to test the waters. As of yesterday his boat took a bit of a hit in the price he thinks he can get. How much I am unsure.

You know he’s standing right here, right lmao

I’m not sure who’s buying and whose selling...but...$11k difference for a three year old boat vs new latest and greatest..I think the AR250 is the better choice.

But 50 out the door vs 61 +++

@Dodi5 You are correct, that 61k will most likely be 67k circa OTD which is the proper comparison for dollars.

Always figure

Base + Prep + Destination + Taxes ($3,600 give or take) on a new boat. Then the real spending comes in with everything that you will need on top of that.

Where i live I’d have to pay sales tax on the new or used boat. So maybe a $500 difference in the tax bill.

Freight and prep could be a difference maker. But I doubt it would push it to more than $15k swing... I’d still say get the new model.

Unless you are paying cash, you’ll get a better interest rate from Yamaha for the new boat than a loan for the used one.

Im hoping your right, Ive been watching the 24s for a while and right now there’s very little out there in the way of 17’ and up years

Remember that some of yamaha's loans are step loans. Also your assumption is incorrect across the board. Through one of my C.U.'s the rate is the same and they will match Yamaha's. I guess it depends on whom you run your loans through and what type of relationship you have with the lending institution.

Additionally, Yamaha likes Primo Credit scores where as you can get the same rate through a Credit Union with scores that are somewhat lower. I encourage people to shop for themselves personally and their specific financial scenario rather than taking a sweeping outer look.

Finally, some here have had great experiences with the Yamaha Financing, others have had nightmares. YMMV

Do you know a good lender

Do you belong to any local Credit Unions? That is where I would start. They love local new business. I am not sure where you are from. Also if your credit scores are not top notch, using a local Credit Union makes it very easy for you to refinance the loan through them, typically, as your scores and or financial situation changes.

Personally, My scores can swing 80 points easy in any given month depending on how much personally guaranteed debt I have to sign for, for my company.

Anyhow I would start with C.U.'s or local bank you have a relationship as well and get their best rates new and used. Also discuss term. Some will do 15 years, some do 20 years, some go much less. See what they have and then you compare that to Yamaha's. Don't forget to discuss minimum down payment as well. I would get everything laid out first before I would let everyone start pulling and ripping through my credit.

There are also some boat finance companies that I have seen members on here do real well with, I just can't find the thread, maybe they can chime in or search through forum.

Great . Thanks ?. My credit union here does a 10.5% on boats . I guess not their business. I’ll check others online

Also the dealers have connections with alot lenders also whom do their exact business.
