2020 AR210 SURF QUESTION..Family kinda upset, need to make a decision fast.

I doubt that you will regret the 212 limited s. Congrats!

Congrats - I actually emailed my sales person and asked him if he wanted to sell my boat for me and take whatever he could get over 70k - he laughed at that. Maybe central WI is flush with Yamahas?

Looks like you made the decision, but just to chime in... If you find you need more torque, you can always install the Lucky 13 cones. They will rob 3mph or so of top end but they will improve torque and decrease cavitation.

good news. best of luck with your boat..

Thanks All. Well Just said the heck with it and put a deposit down on a 212 Limited S getting it July 21st. Very few choices right now at the dealers. Everything is picked over and the dealer who has never steered me wrong told me that its next to impossible to know how many they will get for next season as shut downs between many trading lanes between America, Japan, China, etc.

So No I didn't get a steal like some I have seen back in January before we knew the whole world was going to implode, all activies shut down and if you have access to a lake that's about the best you are going to do!

Same dealer said the Fall UTV inventory is already almost all gone and people are already asking about snowmobiles up here in da North Wisconsin Country. I have the feeling (my wife and I included) no matter what happens with Covid we are in for at least one more summer where not a lot will be open...and even if things do open theres going to be a lot of skittish people. We have found the less we have been in any crowd, we haven't missed it. Small gathering of friends on our Lake, at the sandbar or a few people in the backyard surpasses a festival and a bar now in our world.

So I'll cringe I may have overpaid as I paid list on the Yamaha website. When I called this morning at 9:02 A.M. they opened at 9. I was the 3rd person on hold. By the time I made the selection of the 212 Limited S, the other 2 boats , an AR 210 and a 212X were being written up as well, Dealer said he is now OUT of inventory and Yamaha can't get him anymore for the season.

So, if your gonna sell, now is the time to get top dollar. I got $25K for my 14 yr old AR 230.
Congrats! We just got our 212s last Friday after waiting since Feb. It's our 1st boat of this size, but we already love it! Our dealer said they are completely sold out for the rest of the year and could sell ours for more than we paid if we wanted to.
We're just gonna enjoy it and have fun. Life is too short.

Did you get your boat?

@OrangeTJ used to have a 210 set up for surfing I think. I haven’t seen him post in a while but maybe he will comment on this thread.

Good luck reaching a quick and inexpensive outcome @Milwmarc . A few years ago I bought and refurbished an old waverunner with my son, we used it for a few years until I found a great deal on a newer bigger waverunner. I ended up trading waverunners and putting a little cash on the top of the trade. Although it was and still is a great deal, my son resented the fact that I didn't ask or even talk to him about it before I completed the transaction. In retrospect, even though I paid for and owned the ski I should have realized his attachment to it and given him a say in the transaction.

We surfed our 2011 SX210 a couple of times but never really got dialed. I've since moved on to a v-drive wake boat and have been pretty active in those couple of threads on that topic.

Congrats to the OP on their new boat! I'm sure it will be awesome for you and your family!

if you are still worried about the surfing I would pretty much guarantee your new boat will do just fine with a wedge and some weight. I got a AR240 (same motors as you) and I was almost able to get my 190lb buddy to go rope less with the stock set up (no wedge/bag/etc) 3/4 tank of gas, 5 people in the cockpit. He has been surfing along time but this was his second time wake surfing, and my first time driving a surfer, and it was pretty choppy. I think I maybe used 1/4 to 1/3 of the throttle and he popped right up. I think a wedge to clean up the pocket he would have been good to go.

Well, took possession yesterday. Got it home and repacked off our new slip for our new "to be built home". This surfing thing is costing me more and more $$. Put the required hour in to get engines broke in. Let the mods begin! Much lower end torque than my Mr 1 engines. Looks good on the jet dock lift covered too.

Great looking boat...maybe I should try that to get a new model...lol
'16 212x without the Lucky 13 cones, 11.2 mph, Fatsac rear and center locker, 100 lbs steel shot bow, half filled factory ballast, wakewedge, 3 or 4 adults still have a long way to dial in the wake...Happy Surfing!

I've got the same boat - you're going to love it - and here's what you need to get ropeless. 750 fat sac in the ski locker. 750 fat sac on the transom. 500 fat sac on the rear floor (if less than 4 adults in the boat). Yamaha Wakebooster. Tsunami Pump x2 (decrease fill time / backup for draining bags). 20+ feet of water. Ride Steady to dial in the wave for each surfer. Plan on spending about 3-4k to get it setup right for rider and driver. You'll love it when you're done!!

Here's the setup as above and the difference between 12 feet of water and 60 feet of water. Brown water is 12', blue water is 60'.

Yeah...my whole family..I mean all 3 teens going into adulthood And wife are pretty upset. I think it's my first mistake as a parent of 21 years and a husband of 28 years.

Don’t beat yourself up. Ijust did the exact same thing. In Illinois moving back to Florida after 20 years, sold my Sea Ray in two days in May. Just sold the house in 2 days and during that time values on boats skyrocketed.

Both my son and wife said I shouldn’t have sold the boat and are disappointed.

But.... now I’ll have full support on buying a 210/212 ( undecided).
