2020 Yamaha SX190 Speed Showing Zero on Connext Display

2020 SX190 has no speed sensor???
That's a double negative - he means it definitely is supposed to have a speedometer reading.

From what I've read, the 19ft boats with the smaller Connext use the little paddle wheel sensor. Perhaps the installer was off that day and it was overlooked? I'm not positive, but the 195s model has Maps and a GPS sensor puck just in front of the windshield on the starboard side like my 212 so it may have GPS speed, but I'm pretty sure the sx190 doesn't.

Roger that! I'll have to call Yamaha I guess. I can't even find where the wire or plug would be for it. Anyone have any photos of the wire or plug socket so I can see if I can find the "unplugged" wire end?

This SX190 is a bit odd so not surprised I'm not seeing a speed sensor. This boat has the rear swim deck seat (butt) cushions like a higher end limited model. I've never seen butt cushions on the deck of any of the 190 series.

That's not normal - I think they screwed up when assembling your boat. My 2020 212s doesn't have them either - only the 24, 25, 27ft models have the swim platform seats. Got any pics?

Ignore the dirt, I've been working on the boat this week, but here are some pics. I thought it was odd. The swim deck seats are why I scooped this unit up so quickly. I even asked the sales guy and he had no comment.

What the absolute F is that? Dude, you have some sort of frankenboat. As was stated by others, the only boats with bottom cushions on the rear deck are the 24+ size boats. Those snaps are for sure hacked in.

Was this sold as a new boat? I would have serious questions for the dealership on where the F they pulled this thing out of.

Their line staff probably have wrong work-order for a bigger boat when they work on your boat. They installed the swimdeck seat and did not install paddle wheel since those bigger boat have GPS... just a wild guess lol

Those rear seats snap holes in the decking look really half-assed (sorry OP), I'm guessing it was a backyard job.

I thought it was a new boat, but you're right if its a used boat its highly likely someone just added it

He said he purchased it with 35 hours. Even though used boats are used boats, I would still be annoyed that the dealership didn't disclose this half-assed add-on. Personally I would think that snap in seats could come loose easily and might fly off at speed. And if you have them off, you have these super ugly holes in your deck.

Maybe its a buy-back cause of paddle wheel not installed and dealer did not disclose, who knows. This boat is very odd.

Are you sure you looked close under your boat? The paddle wheel is only partially exposed. The majority of it is recessed up inside where the transducer body housing is. I can see in your pic where the transducer is (circled in red). The other pic if of an older model SX190 but the transducer should be very similar if not the same. Location is slightly different because of the newer hull but take a look closer under your boat. If your wheel is missing up in the hole as it appears to be then you know someone put the wrong transducer in there and it should come with the paddle wheel.

Yep, got real lucking with this vessel for sure! I couldn't believe it when I saw what I was looking at. I saw it, looked at the sale rep and said "where do I sign?"

I thought the same. Started prepping the wrong haul on the line.

It's factory install. The photos don't do it justice. The cushions are exact match in color and material.

I can attest that they are not half-assed. The photos don't it justice. Even if it was after market, it was done very well. I swear it looks factory. I know the previous owner, he traded up. The previous owner confirmed it was in place when he purchased. So not sure!

Yep, I even pulled the transducer to see if there was a pin wheel.

Frankenboat.

(the new model for 2020)
