Im trying to decide whether or not to leave a deposit on a new AR250 possibly by the end of the week but want to see what prices others have been quoted on them so far. Ive seen some posts on some of the 21ft boats but nothing specific on AR250 yet. If you list your OTD figure please list what the tax & registration fee in your area is so that I know how to break it down as far as the actual cost of the boat before all that. Thank you for any information that anyone can offer on this.

Tax rate 7 percent. Doc fees 386, Dealer prep/freight 2175, OTD 66,385. Free mooring cover.

See the first post in that thread for some AR250 quotes from another member.

I was quoted similar to two of his quotes: the quote I got was $61.5K for the boat and galvanized trailer, inclusive of any prep and freight. Only additional costs were state taxes, title, and registration (which adds about $2K in NC). Only freebies I believe were a coast guard safety package (4 life jackets, throwable, flares, air horn) and a small discount on accessories at their marina. I moved forward with this dealer but on a different model,

i found the difference is a dealer charges freight/prep or they don’t. $61,399 is list price with a galvanized trailer. I received this number from 2 dealers.
add $3k for f/p

lowest Ive been able to get is $61800 OTD with painted trailer. Thats boat, tax, registration fees.....no prep or freight will be added. I was really wanting to be closer to $60K even. Maybe if I can get a free Yamaha cover included in that price I will feel a little better about it. Supposed to let them know something today.

Ive been quoted basically MSRP for boat w galvanized trailer is $61500. ..no freight no prep free mooring cover free anchor and coast guard kit .....if it was a normal year this isnt a good deal in my eyes ...but being 2020 and all i guess its not bad

including your tax and registration fees or still have to add those to the $61500?

This will be the first boat Ive ever bought so Im not sure what Yamaha dealers typically would come off of a new boat, pre-Covid, anyway.

Ive never paid MSRP for anything ..especially if you are pre ordering something that isnt built yet and not promised a delivery date ...if a dealer is telling you thst your 25 foot boat will be in by end of September they are full of it ...ive been told a projected date of September by one dealer , and another dealer told me more realistically end of Oct or Nov or even next spring ....

I get that, Im not paying MSRP but not getting much off of it unless you factor in that they arent charging the high amount for prep and freight like some dealers are doing. They said it would be a few months before I could expect to see one but realistically with the season almost over here I dont care if it doesnt show up until February or March. It will just be sitting and until then anyway. How much discount do you typically see on these boats before the Covid craziness?

I usually buy leftovers at end of season and get a minimum of 10 % of msrp and no prep or freight and any accessories at dealer cost

What dealer? I tried about 50 dealers on the East Cost, and I couldn't find a single one that would do 10% with no prep/frieght.... this was at the end of 2017.

Right, I was under the impression there was only about a 6% markup in them to begin with...maybe Im way off though.

I have no idea if this website is correct or not (I was pointed to it by another poster) but seedealercost.com indicates about a 17.5% percent markup over invoice to get to MSRP. That's exclusive of any factory incentives Yamaha is offering to the dealer. I can tell the MSRPs listed are inclusive of trailers, but I'm unsure if the invoice cost listed on that website is inclusive of the trailer or if that's an additional cost for the dealer that's not factored in here (effectively bringing that 17.5% number down to something smaller).

No info yet on that website regarding 2021 Yamahas but here's an example from 2020: AR240 MSRP $58699, Invoice $49894. 58699/49894=1.176 = 17.6% markup

I’ve seen those prices every year except this year. Sometimes it’s more then 10%
