@wyicehockey ....I normally do not purchase extended warranties. IF I do it's ONLy from OEM never a third party warranty. I purchased 5 year OEM one from Mercruiser on a very expensive cruiser and it paid for itself in one shot and was instrumental in selling the boat when the buyer's bank based the loan approval on the OEM warranty. Regarding the Yamaha 5 year: 1. Yamaha has an awesome reputation from everyone I have talked with regarding honoring this warranty. 2. It helps if you sell or trade in < 5 years 3. Ask your dealer for a discount on the warranty. many dealers will give a discount if pushed or think it may be a deal breaker - blame it on your wife!!!
