2021 Yamaha Drain Plugs

While stainless looks nicer, I believe the guts of the plugs are the same - silicone spray will protect the plastic and rubber seals. And the plugs are underwater so who cares how they look.

@212s ....yes, I used Yamaha lubricant (silicone spray for rubber products would work great too) and they twist on and off with ease.. When I asked a Yamaha rep why the "plastic" plugs the reply was that they did not corrode.

That makes sense, and the plastic plugs work fine for me.
 
Reviving this thread as I'm curious if anyone has installed a cable-actuated style drain plug in their Yamaha? Our 212S is stored on a lift when not in use and it is just enough of a pain to get to the plug that I have considered something that makes it a little easier to drain after a day on the water!
