Ok so we picked our new 255xd up a few weeks ago. We did do a 2hr in water test ride a during delivery. I did look the boat over but.... A few of the thing I have found.
  1. The articulating keel pin is tight in the ruther but loose in the metal plate. As if it is missing a bushing.
  2. Missing sound deading on engine hatch.
  3. No through bolts for the seats like I have seen on the '21 252 & 255.
  4. Starboard side surf tab wire not connected.
  5. There is a 5/8 gap between the engine hatch and rim that it should seal to. There was a 1/8 or 3/16 foam seal but it was not making contact.
  6. Screw and nut on helm door.
  7. Gas strut for ski locker.
  8. Don't forget 2' extra water discharge hose from the oil filter tied in a knot.
  9. Looks like the boat is 1.5" to 2" too far forward on the trailer. As there is 1.5" to 2" of bunk past the transom. I have not gotten a tongue weight yet so...

Now with that all being said. I love the boat. I will take care of it all not a big deal but, come on Yamaha.

The ski locker is a friction hinge, or it should be, mine is on my 21. Not sure on the seats, got a pic? I can compare to mine.

Best I have for now. Credit to Will O. @JetBoatPilot
You can see that I have bolt holes. On the '18 242x these bolts held the seat to the hatch.Screenshot_20220423-215304_YouTube.jpg20220423_201644.jpg

Ok yeah I have thru bolts, def protruding thru my sound mat. Yours is missing? Wtf. Man I was livid back in May 2021 with my boat, and it seems like shit is worse.

Now I need to go and check mine

I just picked up my 2022 255XE last week. Thankfully I didn't have any of your issues. So far my two complaints are broken latch on the starboard side sliding backrest which I saw was broken 3 secs after stepping onto the boat. Two was that small screws that hold the plastic retainer for the swim platform cushions are already pulling out. My plan was to swap the screws for bolts with nylock nuts on the underside of the hatch when they become loose enough to fear losing one.

I just posted about it earlier, you will have to find screws that sit flat and let you slide the cushions back in, my solution was to use adhesive silicone under the plastic slide and reuse the tiny screw, I had zero issues after in 100 hrs

So I while installing the sound deading to the underneath inf the engine hatch. I found that the port ballast pump was mounted too high. It was making contact with the hatch even before the 5/8" sound deading. So I relocate it lower but, this lead to a new issue of the inlet hose was misaligned. I proceeded to take the ball valve off the through hull fitting to find it 3/4 glued shut with 5200. I laid under the boat and foud a little bit in the other two. I was able to remove it with a razor blade knife and small needle nose. 20220515_012226.jpg20220515_031640.jpg
