22 195S GPS question

My friend just called me and said he recommends I buy a Garmin GPS with the breadcrumb function. Does the GPS unit that came with the 195S have that feature and is it good enuf? I was reading about map and software updates for the Connext. Where do I find them online?

The chart plotter on the boat will track your route. I combine it with Navionics app on my phone for a bit more detailed information.
