Hey all!

I have a 2022 255xd with a lead start battery (24M-XHD) and a lead house battery (SRM-24).

Id like to move to all LifePO4, simply because I want to get the house battery on lithium and you shouldn't mix chemistries... Here is my plan, tell me what you think...

For the house battery, I want to get the zooms / redodo 300ah battery and move it into the cabinet where the console is. Which frees up space where the batteries are now, under the port side back seat.

For the starter battery, I'm undecided on which LifePO4 to get because it's a starter battery. I've heard the 1.8 liter engines don't need much to start, so possibly just a 50ah...

Just looking for suggestions on if my plan will work and what should I get for the starter battery.

Thanks!!

I’ll be watching this closely as I’m looking to do the same exact thing. I’d like pure drop in replacements. As far as the 50ah battery for starting, I don’t believe there are any that small that claim the ability to start. The only battery I’ve seen so far that claims it can be used as a starter is the Ionic 125ah. People seem to be really happy with them. With that said, I’ve also seen some for my 18 wave runner that are only 20ah and same engine as my boat

Yea, I agree. My fx cruiser svho has a 12v 20ah 270cca battery to crank that engine... Surely a high quality LifePO4 could match that. But I'm still very new at this. Hope someone with more knowledge gives some guidance...

Worse case, I may try to find a battery with free returns and give it a try. I'll also always have a Fanttik T8 2000amp jump starter on the boat should something go wrong.
