Here is a funny one I just encountered.

I picked up my boat in late March. We noticed the back filler cushion was missing, so the dealer offered to order us a replacement at no cost. Every week I would text the salesman and ask for an update on the cushion as well as the lifejackets they owed us from our "Coastguard Kit". Always the same answer. "They are on backorder".

Finally, yesterday, the dealer called and said my cushion had arrived. That was then followed up by them saying "We have a 3 day parts hold policy". I politely asked how they had the balls to give me 3 days to pick up a part that I had just waited 2 months for.. They repeated I had 3 days. lol

Still no word on the lifejackets, but I know they wont refund me the money, even though I bought some from a department store already. I guess I am lucky I got anything at all.

Personally, I'd have a nice long conversation with the Manager. I get the policy (if its in writing), but dang! wait 2 months for back order items your owed as part of the purchase and they throw this in your face? That's just not good business.

I thought about that, but when I went to pick it up I looked at the "caliber" of the service department staff, and decided it was best to just take my cushion and leave. Not the highest of society. That is not derogatory on anyone in the service industry at all, just on the 5 or so people I seen and heard for the brief 2 minutes I was in there.

Funny and sad but i believe every word

I completely understand. Sometimes walking away is the right thing to do.

"Cool, ship it overnight to me, assholes."

a 3 day hold for?? What to see if someone else needs it (will pay a premium for it)

That’s a heck of a policy. Good thing you weren’t out of town.

I. cant. even.

haha

sucks man. For what its worth, those "coast guard kit" vests are poop. And hurray for the cushion. I just got my keys for the boat I bought 3 years ago! When I went to pick it up they gas lighted me saying I had picked up the welcome package when I bought the boat a few months prior. Then a few months ago they called me saying oops, we just found it. So now I have extra keys and lanyard!

We had the same issue with a dinning room set. Ordered and paid in full, took 4 months for it to come in and they had the balls to tell us that if they could not deliver in the next week they would sell it.

Big ol balls.. Thats what some companies have these days..

Seems that way. Super nice until you sign, then BAM.. dicks. And not just one dick.. but a whole bucket of dicks.
