Can anyone tell me where the rev limiter would be located on this engine? Had poor spark when I bought this boat, replaced trigger, stator, switchbox, rebuilt carbs, new fuel line, new fuel etc. I think I have it narrowed down to the limiter, slow starter crank rpm,s or bad coils. I would like to find and check the limiter first.
Thanks! Garry in Tampa, FL

If I remember correctly the limiter is mounted on the port front of the engine and has three wires coming out of it, two go into the wiring harness and the other goes to ground.

check the magnets inside the flywheel as they work loose and move all around

Thanks for your reply. I still cannot find anything like that on the engine at all. I did however, test all 3 coils, 2 were bad so replacing all 3.
