I messaged @Bruce today to see if he had time to talk as I was about to tackle installing my Chart Plotter, he and I have the same 230 Series and picked his brain and he gave me a lot of great advice. Got the hard part done of installing the transducer and the clam shell, tomorrow will be routing the wiring up to the dash and installing the unit and hooking it up to power. The Simrad units have a very large end on the connector on the cable that connects to the unit, let's just say it was not fun enlarging the existing hole where my old depth transducer wiring was ran. Anyways, just wanted to give Bruce some kudos for being a great guy and a tremendous asset to this forum.

You are very welcome. I am excited to hear how you like the Simrad Go.

Well I thought we could go to the lake Sunday, but forgot we are watching 3 of our Grandkids Sunday while our Son & Daughter-In-Law go to a football game. So it will be a couple of weeks before I get to try it out and report how well I like it.

This thread is why I like this place so much. All the wisdom and willingness to help one another out is just outstanding. I just hope some day I can pass on some knowledge.

All of you is one of the reasons why I chose the boat I did!

He's a goodun that Bruce :winkingthumbsup".

I didnt like making that hole either for the GO7, so after installing, I mixed up a putty type epoxy and applied it to the inside of the bulkhead. From the outside I sealed it with 3M 4200. No leaks yet. :winkingthumbsup"

@njmr2fan Where on the dash did you mount your Go7? I finally got the cable fished up to the dash, now figuring out mounting and power source.
