I am getting some cavitation and started sealing but I noticed this area marked in the photo. There is also some sort of gap along the entire top area. Does this need to be sealed? It’s hard to tell how deep or big this gap is with the impeller in the way.

I would say yes mine is sealed at your arrows, and at the bottom of your photo on the grates as well from the factory..........I'm impressed all my caulking from the factor on my 2013 is still in place.

Great thank you I will get on that. Maybe pull the pump so I have a little more room
