Any Open Plotter Experience?

Hi JetBoaters,

In an ever quest to make things better and leverage electronics I am wondering if anyone on the forum has experience with Open Plotter on their Yamaha boats...or other vessels (sailboaters?)? What's the good bad and ugly?

My Yamaha is a 2010 so things are a little more "analog" than some of the newer boats out there.

I like the idea of Signal K and the flexibility to integrate other standards.

Thinking like a DIY Connext on the older yammie boats without having to fall victim to costly closed systems . . . OpenPlotter | OpenMarine . . . along with some diagnostics from the ECU. Something like "Total Consciousness for the boat! ....Not sure I can get a "Tesla like auto-summon to work though!"
