I know this has been posted a few times in the past and I've read them all looking for some help. I'm looking for either a new, used or someone who can repair the ECUpart number 6P6-8591A-01-00 for the 2005 AR230 HO. Yamaha is apparently having a nationwide shortage and they won't be available until 9/14. I don't want to loose the rest of my season so am willing to pay for either. Scoured the internet and no one has any in stock. Anyone have any leads?

You can have it repaired in about two weeks at carmo electronics
Thanks. I think that's the route I'll need to go but I was hoping to be back on the water for a river party on 9/1. Seeing if I can get lucky and someone has a new or used one laying around that I can buy.

Check ebay for a used but refundable unit. They usually go for around $650.

Also check on pwc sites like green hulk as well as yamahajetboaters.net my mechanic confirmed that it is gaurabteed to work if you buy the the same model but the guy who purchaed my fx cruiser (with 140 hp 998 cc mr1 motor) replaced the stock ecu with one from another year and which had a different part number and told me it has worked fine for the past year, much of it as a rental, so an ecu grom an fx waverunner with an ho engine (1,052 cc 160 ho) may work for you as well. If you are up for it buy a used fx ($3k to $4k) use the ecu for now and Fix up the fx in the off season. Good luck.

Ps. Carmo cant always fix the ecu, they couldnt fix mine but if you call them maybe they will expedite work on your ecu if you are willing to pay them a tbd expedite fee.
