Just got back from the beach here on the NC crystal coast. Drove out just to get a glimpse of what was happening before it gets dark. These were taken at the Bogue Inlet fishing pier on Emerald Isle.IMG_93964119115518.jpegIMG_93956789892262.jpeg IMG_94007518077821.jpeg

I am vacationing in Myrtle Beach this week. Solid rain all day and higher than normal wind but otherwise it was no different than a typical rainy day. Looks like a different story where you are.

Mid 3's start worrying. Depending on where you live, elevation... Cat 2 is an excuse to party around mobile, al.

@SCSTWG ......here in Jacksonville, we have seen probably the worst of it that we'll see. Maybe some 50-55 mph gust and about 3 inches of rain. I wouldn't want to be on Cape Lookout now. Looks like they are going to catch the worst of it.

@Randall Knapp ....Bertha, Fran, Floyd, Sandy.....all came ashore as Cat 2's or less. All of which were very destructive. We rode down to Topsail beach after Fran and Bertha and saw multi million dollar homes split down the center and nothing but four tires sticking out of the sand from their cars being buried upside down.

Not bashing. Mobile is the home of margaritaville.Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes What I don't care for is the mass hysteria and fear mongering the media likes to do.

Mobile is 30 miles inland from the beach so we don't have the damage that beachfront property has. Also all of our beach fronts are islands as well as increased construction standards since 2004- 2005 when we pretty much had enough

Do I want to be on a beach in 15foot surge? No but like the guvnah of North Carolina said. "Let's not put our stupid caps on."
