Bad computer why? Beyond mad

When I was getting the boat this morning neither motor would start and were turning over weak so I charged the batteries. After being charged and it still wouldn't start I found the lanyard "y" had spread out so the lanyard was done. Pulled it up and only one motor would start. Unplugged the wires didn't help. Moved on to spark plugs. When I found them dry and this just happened with my old ecu I panicked. Anyway I'm leaving the lanyard unplugged. One less thing to worry about. I've got two 3 year old girls always pulling on the cord anyway
