Battery mistake ?

Looks like I will be cutting some wires. Sigh ...
 
If not on a charger regularly then I would just disconnect the small black wire when on a charger but don’t forget to hook it back up. I am at a marina with power and have a permanently installed NOCO dual bank charger so I went with the engine on method.

If I were in drystack I would try to turn down/off the stereo and empty any ballast prior to being on my way back in to give the batteries the best charge I could from the engines prior to sitting in dry stack. If you don’t have amps or ballast pumps then even that is not a big deal.
Thanks that's what I needed to know. As we all know I will be upgrading that crap stereo at some point with speakers and an amp but I'm just going to add two speakers so I have six and no subwoofer due to no storage power and hope it charges sufficiently while driving if not I may have to listen to the wind in my ears instead of tunes.
 
If I have the small black wire disconnected and I attach the positive and negative leads from the charger to one battery will it charge both batteries because of the ground wire connecting the two batteries together?
 
No matter what you do with the ground, when the relay senses a rise in voltage above it will bridge the two and it defeats the purpose of individual charging.
You need to mod the red loop wire to the ignition feed. @Mainah am i correct?

The DVSR as the name implies is a relay albeit a smart relay. The small red loop provides +12v for the smart electrinics and relay coil. The small black wire completes the circuit for the smart electronics and coil. Both the small red loop and the small black wire are required to complete the circuit and without continuous connection across both the DVSR will not operate.

But another question (by @Weeb) was also about the ground wire connecting the two batteries - would that, aside from any DVSR issues, prevent proper/individual/separate charge by a multi-bank charger connected to individual batteries?
(Sorry to bug you! I think the answer is: no problem there; but I'm not 100% sure)

As long as all of the battery switches are off the ground alone can't complete a circuit between the two batteries. On a simplified level try to think of a circuit as a continuous loop and the electrons need to be drawn through the loop to flow.

Thank you this is what I thought. After charging the start battery I then hooked up the house battery that's when I saw the red light on. My charger was flashing in and out of fully charged and I knew it shouldn't be charged yet. That was the start of the worries lol. Thank you all for your knowledge.
