I have a 2012 210sx, with a shorelander trailer, I upgraded my tires a couple weeks ago to radials. I got to thinking about my bearings, does anyone replace them preventatively or do you want until you see/have a problem.

In addition to adding grease regularly, check them at least once per season--removing the bearing buddy and checking for signs of water intrusion and rust. Depending on how much you trailer, I would rebuild them every 2-3 years, which basically means complete removal of bearings and seals, cleaning and repacking bearings, and putting in new seals.

Learn to do this yourself and save shop labor $. Parts cost for new seals is cheap. Once you've done it, it does not take much time.

Lots of leading trailer brands and manufacturers recommend maintenance services at least once a year. Most small-boat trailer owners do bearing maintenance every 2,000 or 6,000 miles, or 6 months whichever comes first. For larger trailer owners, servicing is done at 10,000 or 20,000 miles or once a year.
