Bearings

Well I’ve had my boat out a grand total of 4 times. Got 5 hours on. I suppose I should of checked but I didn’t. I usually grease my bearings on trailer after the end of season, or if I was going a long way. Anyway, everything new, no need to do anything for a while anyways. Nope. Bearings on left locked up on way home. And guess what. There wasn’t a drop of grease in it. The zerk had a dab on it but the gun must of been dry. Lesson learned, again. Take nothing for granted, and as The Car Doctor says. NEW stands for NEVER EVER WORKED. ?

Unfortunately we live in world where there are many Unqualified individuals in jobs they should not be in.
I have learned to trust nobody when it comes to my vehicles, bikes , boats etc. First thing I do when I purchase something is take it home and check everything. New cars, low oil , different pressures in all 4 tires, etc. Never ceases to amaze me. Sorry for your issue, you are right you would think you could get by for at least the first summer,

I bought a new Regal on a new custom trailer in 2014. When I left the dealership, I went to the 1st auto parts store to buy lockable lug nuts to prevent the nice rims on the trailer from being stolen at my marina. When I tried to remove the lug nuts in the parking lot of the auto parts store, I was amazed that NONE of them were even torqued down - they were just hand tightened on all 4 wheels! My faith in mankind diminished greatly that day.
