Just noticed my bilge light isnt working. When I toggle the switch on and off, I can hear the bilge kick on, so I know its working. Is this a common issue? I dont think its an LED, and being in the on position a lot, maybe it just burnt out?

I have that same issue with my stereo switch light. The radio works, just no light. It's the bulb. You can swap that out for an OEM switch, go to LED switches or as I do...Live with it. I'm not sure if the bulbs are replaceable or not.

The bulbs are replaceable, but it's usually not worth it and you're likely to break the switch while you're at it. I just buy new switches. Search that big online shopping site for "marine rocker switch" to find reasonably priced replacements... most these days are LEDs instead of bulbs.

My bilge pump switch light is not working either. I'm hoping my pump is still working. We had a full crew of 4 adults and 5 kids yesterday and I had a little water come out when I pulled the plug. We did tube a little so the rush of water over the transom may have gone into the clean out tray and into the bilge. I also had a little water in the engine compartment which seemed weird. I may have a leak in my bilge pump exit hose. Any of y'all had to replace that yet? Is it a common rubber tube and is it easy to replace?

That's one of my MEL (minimum equipment list) items. If it doesn't work, I don't launch. I don't water test it I just listen for it when I throw the switch.

Not sure why they just don't use LEDs. Thanks for the info.

I wish mine were that easy... I installed a new one and can't hear it at all when it's dry. I leave it off for the first 20 minutes, then flip it on so I'll have enough water for it to at least gurgle and I know it's alive.

@PEARCE I wouldn't worry if you get a fair bit of water out of the drain after you get the boat on the trailer. That little bit in the bottom that the pump can't get looks like a ton of water when it's coming out of the drain hole.
