So you want to re-gelcoat the bottom of your boat? You should be able to find the exact factory color so no blending would be necessary. If you're patching, then you should be able to bring back the original color with some wet sanding and buffing after you spray your patches.
I had white gelcoat that matches the rest of the boat. It's on the very bottom. I am the only person that will really ever see it. As far as wet sanding... lol it was a hole dude. I had to replace fiberglass.

Didn't know it was a hole repair as you never mentioned it in your post. My wet sanding reference was in response to your "blending" comment. Not trying to be a jerk, but I was simply trying to help you out based on the info your provided. You shouldn't have had to blend a thing if you went with the factory gelcoat color. Bottom of the boat shouldn't fade like the sides and upper deck. Staining or any other discoloration should be fairly easy to bring back to original color with some work.

Yep. Spectrum Color sell kits for our boats (through iBoats) that are the exact match, it is crazy nice (anyone who has ever attempted to match gelcoat color will understand)!

True enough about it matching. Could always scrape some off and do again "correctly" with right color as well.

Well I Blocked my AR240 up today. Took me about an hour to get it off the trailer.
I bought stands but you always can use blocks. Almost finished cleaning the bottom
It looks great. Thanks for all the responses.

Nice work. I know that many boats spend a lot of time up on stands/blocks, but It always makes me nervous when I see them off the trailer like that. I would love to see a time lapse video of what you did to get it there. I'm sure it was a lot of small movements. Be careful under there.

Yikes! I don't think I would go under there.

Believe me it is very safe. I have worked under many blocked boats and this is the safest setup. The stands make it much faster and very safe.
I am going to put it back on the trailer today I may try to do a Video on that.

You asked for a time laps video of blocking the boat and here it is. Although it is putting the boat
back on the trailer.
That is just simply awesome!!!! LMOA.

Well that didn't take long.

It took me 45 min to take it off. First time. Only took me 15 min to get it back on. The bottom looks Awesom.
I lot of work but after seeing the results it was worth it. I was also able to see the carpet on the bunks after on 1 year
Are worn. Trying to decide what to do. There are only a few different products out there to replace the carpets.

Dang that is crazy! I'd be a nervous wreck but I'm sure it's sturdy. Cool video of the process :winkingthumbsup"

Truly awesome. Great work there. I especially liked the very end, transitioning from the blocks to the trailer at the finale. I agree it was very safe, by the speed and attention to detail. Nicely done.

I watched my dealer put my boat on the trailer for the first time, It was picked up by the front winch eye and the two back tie downs. With straps, i guess those are tuffer than one would think, If you can believe that,

I always wondered if it would support the boat. I seen it done on other boats. Great info thanks.

What an awesome job! Thanks for taking the time to do the video to show us (who have no clue) how to do that. Maybe the next time you lift it up you can do another video showing that process.

The stock carpet is awful. My dealer had a few different brands of trailers on his lot and turned me on to the only brand (boatmate) that seemed to be quite a bit better. So I bought that and just installed right over the existing carpet with long stainless steel t50 staples. I used a heat gun to seal the edges of the new carpet from fraying once installed. You can call them as opposed to ordering 3 or 4 rolls. Great mod for under a hundred bucks. www.Boatmateparts.com

I had my boat in the water when I did mine as opposed to blocking it ;)
