I reviewed a thread by @Bruce "trailer bunk fitment", I also tried searching to no avail for a thread from maybe 18 months ago about tongue wight and where the boat lined up on the back of the bunks, that I believe @HangOutdoors authored.

Anyway, that said I added the tongue step by JetBoatPilot and I would like to reduce the angle by lowering the bow stop (roller). When properly situated on the trailer the boat is about 3" from the end of the bunk, from what I've read it sounds like it wouldn't be a problem if by lowering the bow stop the boat is moved back a couple of inches.

Is my conclusion correct?

You should be just fine. 5 or so inches wont hurt it at all
