I have a contract on a 2007 SX230 and am going to sea trial it this coming Wednesday during survey. I had Yamaha dealer perform engine check. Everything to me looks good with the exception of the hours. Should I be concerned with 514, if all else is solid?

Thanks -B

******from dealer analysis**********
compression
starboard motor 1=205, 2=200, 3=205, 4=205
port motor 1=195, 2=200, 3=205, 4=205

normal signs of wear to the leading edge of jet pump impeller, impeller to wear ring clearance is good.

hours on motor = 514

I wouldnt be concerned with that amt of hrs. I think its worse when someone just lets them sit for years. The mr1 is super reliable. That engine is in a ton of waverunners that were in the rental market. Those skis have well over 1000 hrs and many have way more than that.

Over 650 on mine and still runs great. Should be no problem. Make sure you go through @Scottintexas list of potential issues you may encounter. #1 is to make sure scupper gets changed.

That engine is known to go 2000 hours in rental jet skis, which get abused. So I'd say you got yourself a nice, barely broken in boat.
