I know this is late (I just saw this) but when I looked at your shop why can't you just put a chain around (or through) a steel beam and then put a small manual chain hoist lower down on the chain. Then you can just pull the engine. I used this method for years for pulling car engines. You can spend more to have an electric one but for the few times you use it manual works good. Just get the back of the boat in, pull the engine and take the boat back out.
Good luck on both engines. This has become quite the adventure and it seems costly as well.
