Hey everyone, I have a few questions that I need a little guidance on. I decided on adding a Clarion XC 2410 and wanted to get some wiring advice.
I’m going to mount it in the helm cabinet so as to keep the RCA’s shorter and have the run for the power and ground be the longer part. Am I correct in saying this? This is based on everything I have read.

Will 8 gauge work ok for this amp for the power and the ground? Also since that particular amp comes with a wiring harness for the ground and the power what is the best way to connect that to the long heavier gauge going back to the battery?

Last question.... if I add 2 more speakers could I leave the fronts running from the HU and run the rear and the 2 new ones in the mid area from the amp.

Thanks Everyone.

Generally shorter RCA’s will give less chance of noise. I have followed @Mainah advise and paid for some high-quality RCA’s, it changed everything, along with making sure everything in your stereo system is grounded to a common ground.
He also recommended KnuKnocks (?) wires, which are amazing, in that brand the copper wires gauge 8 would be more than sufficient for that amp.

Thanks @swatski, I appreciate the help. I have decided to send back the XC and wait until I can get the amp I really want. Just going to upgrade the 4 speakers for now and do it in stages as more stereo funds become available.

I think you mean KnuKonceptz - Home and Mobile audio accessories, including amp installation kits and speaker wire wires. I used them, highly recommended.
