Used the jack trick to get clean out plug out of the boat and it broke in half. Top half of plug came out but lower half still stuck in boat. Any suggestions on how to get out? Obviously I will have to buy new ones but just need to get bottom portion out. Thanks

Do you see the side claws anywhere? It looks like the mechanism broke apart, but I can't identify the side claws that hold the plug in place anywhere.

If you find all the pieces maybe it can be reassembled with a new "bottom".

Yes I have the side claws(dog ears). However how can I get the bottom plug out?

Drill a hole through remaining piece, put rope with washer, attach to your hoist.

Wow, that is a good one.

So I'm gonna presume that if it is stuck in there good enough to rip the plug in two, drilling a hole and putting in a screw and pulling on it ain't gonna work. Nor will anything really that tries to grab it from the top.

I would go from the bottom. Get a piece of wood about 1' or 2' long and get under the boat. You should be able to see through the grate the bottom of the plug. You may need to pull the pump to get a clear shot at it, but see if you can whack the wood with a hammer while it is against the bottom of the plug to push it up and get it to move.

The other option is to just start drilling holes into the plug until it starts to break apart or gets loose enough to pull out.

Best place to buy new plugs?

@Lsutmorg ..... see suggestion to drill a few more holes. That will de-value the structural integrity of the bottom piece. Spray some lubricant around the perimeter let set a while then removal should be easy.
