Has anyone had their 7” Connext screen go weird? On my 2017 212 Limited S, the display works but everything is backwards/mirrored. Touch is fine and all things act as normal other than the screen is reversed.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

There have been a lot of reports of these connext systems starting to fail this is the first I heard of a mirror effect. There was someone posting about screen repair they do it for the high end ski boats malibu tige Etc... but they need a donor to work on. Maybe they could help having this issue drops the resale value dramatically especially at the quoted prices 8-11K and none available

PSA: If you run into the mirroring/backwards screen issue on your Yamaha Connext display, try unplugging the screen overnight. Mine fixed itself after roughly 12 hours disconnected.

Be extremely careful when unplugging/reconnecting the display pins are tiny and fragile.

Hopefully this helps someone in the future because staring at an $11k replacement quote is scary!

I found my fix. Yes I seen the prices on those screens and I didn’t sleep well last night! Thanks for the reply.

Why wouldn't disconnecting the batteries or shut off switches fix your problem.

@Bridger Was your fix just to shut off batteries? I just had a customer call in yesterday with the same issue. Usually mirroring is a sign of the LCD driver being corrupted and not receiving the orientation signal for some reason

Apologies for the delay in reply. I unplugged the cable from the back of the monitor for about 12hrs and then reconnected. Disconnecting my batteries alone didn’t fix my issue for what reason I don’t know. Attached is a picture of the cable I unplugged and reconnected. I see your now working on these displays, thank you for that. I do have a question for you. If my screen is okay now what’s the Likelihood it happens again? And if it does is that something that’s fixable by MTC Screens?

Hi, so the unplug solved it? Yes we can now replace the lcd and touch screen assemblies which fixes most of the common issues, including lost touch response, lcd sunburn, yellowing, fading, and delamination. In every case I have seen, the disconnect fixes the reverse image that customers call about. I would say if it happens again we can install a new LCD driver and see if that takes care of it.

I should have been more specific. Disconnecting my display directly solved my problem. Glad to hear MTC Screens has a fix for future issues!
