Im in daytona. There are a few areas on water canals bot mostly on intercoastal waterway. We have an inlet here called ponce inlet. We are also 45 minutes from St. JOHNS RIVER. This is fresh water you can go south to around orlando and north to Jacksonville and into ocean.
Palm coast is a town about 30 min north of daytona. Lots of canal homes leading into intercoastal waterway. Let me know if more info needed

It's hard to tell on Google where the canals go since some end at the bridges in a weir and some continue under the bridges. This is one of the few maps I've found that show most of the gulf access canals and some of the fresh water canals. It doesn't show many of the fresh water canals in the northern part the Cape that don't have gulf access but you can get an idea of what the city, and canal system, is like: Map
