I'm considering buying a 2004 Polaris Le 2100. It looks to be in good condition, but I was hoping that maybe some prior owners might be able to give me some insight into issues that I might look out for? As this is an older boat, are the parts difficult to find for it? I am unsure of the engine as I'm first getting to see the boat in person later on tonight, but I wanted to have some questions prepared and maybe look for issues if anyone knew of anything (even if they're just general jet boat related issues). He's asking 10k for it which includes the trailer and things like a cover a life jackets. I haven't been able to reliably find values, so I'm not even confident that that is a good price. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

It is no longer in production since 2004 it has a mercury v6 powerhead from an outboard engine 250 hp the boats low value is about $6500 and average value is $7500 parts will be hard to obtain and people who will work on the boat are probably few and far between so I personally would not be inclined to buy it for the $7500 mark let alone the $10k mark but I did purchased an obsolete jet boat 20 years ago and it changed my life.
So you just never know . The engines were also used in sea doo jet boats and a few others so this could help when locating engine parts not sure about the jet pump parts though. I would research that area and stick around the low retail value if you decide to buy it also have the hull carefully inspected for weak or rotted stringers that can cause a power hook that will drive you crazy trying to understand why the nose keeps plowing water when you speed up.

Thanks, that helps. I was unaware that the jet pump and the engine would be different manufacturers (I had initially been semi-assured that the engine was a mercury and had been used in other jet boats). Do I need to take it somewhere to have the hull inspected or is that something that I could do myself (as in is it fairly obvious when something is wrong)? Where did you get the values for the boat from? I saw them on NADA but I wasn't sure how reliable that was as the options didn't seem to match up with the boat.

I use nada if you get under the boat when it is on the trailer and push up on the hull you can usually see it bow up if it is bad and on the floor inside you can feel the stringers give allowing the floor to give rather than being solid.

Evidently the stringers on this boat are foam core (at least according to someone that owns a Polaris EX2100) so that shouldn't be an issue. I'll have plenty to look at though, thanks!
