Well I was looking for ideas for a cooler rack for the bottom of the swim deck and ran across this. Its not what I'm looking for as I want something removable that will hold well but still thought it was pretty cool.

To me that looks like a government involved design, something similar to rails on a handicap ramp. Seems to be a good design if all you want to do is fish from the swim platform but that is not how I want to use my swim platform.

If I needed to store my cooler on the swim deck I think I'd use bungee cords to hold it in place.

That is, um, interesting

I recall that setup being designed by a member of this board.

Something like this would be more of what I'm looking for.

I don't think you need a rack on our boats, if you secure the cooler to the grab handle and to the lift eyes under the swim platform it won't go anywhere.

I'm thinking for fuel storage as well I do several long trips a year and several of them have fairly long runs between available fuel. I do these on both the boat and skis so it could be multi purpose for me. It would be nice for me be able to quickly be able to release and re hook the fuel cans with out having to unhook a bunch of straps. For the boat I would prefer to have the fuel on the swim deck then inside the boat with me.

If you did a rack on the lower portion of the swim deck you could have the rack attach to the table mount on the deck which would prevent the rack from siding horizontally. To prevent the rack for moving vertically it could secured with tie downs to the grab bar and lift eyes under the swim deck, which would then allow the cargo in the rack to be secured to the rack making for easier access when needed.

One of my thoughts for a boat rack is to start with an aluminum hitch mounted cargo carrier, then remove the 2" hitch bar, and modify the base to attach to the table mount. The picture below is from Amazon and is $103.90 delivered, also might be able to find one at Harbor Freight for cheaper.
