DieselGate article!

LOL. That's awesome. I've swapped a few parts out of some of my dieselgate cars. Even went as far as swapping the bigger brakes and nice alloys off one I turned in Friday just to put the nicer equipment on my daughters car, but nothing like this!

Wow. Just wow.
Makes me feel dumber than dumb... I have actually stopped driving my Passat and keep it in the garage not to get any dents or scratch it or something that would affect its pristine condition...

@swatski we now expect some cool videos of you "mudbogging" that Passat like a drunk redneck now that you have been enlightened.
I'm tempted, indeed.
Hell yeah. If those VW a-holes do not give me a date soon -- there will be videos!

You guys don't have dates yet? I turn mine in at 4 , or actually its already there I dropped it off yesterday. I would have sorn you guys got your stuff back quicker than I did. But thanks for the article, now I'm not worried about the cracked windshield that happened the other day.

Nope been sitting with Green Check Marks for over a month on my Passat and Audi A3. I expect the Audi to probably generate a offer in the next week or two and I probably will have a little longer on the Passat due to a delay in me submitting my paper work on it. I know @veedubtek has turned one in but I think he still has 3 or 4 more to go.

Yeah, here is your boy, Joe (POS in my opinion):

"For his part, Joe said he followed the claims process to the tee, uploading all of his documents as soon as the claims portal went online in an effort to be first on the buyback list.
The car enthusiast and Jalopnik reader fears that Volkswagen might drag this out, like it has with so many other upset VW owners. “I’ve waited long enough already,” he told me tonight."

I figured VW would try to resist fight it. I will say I don't agree with "Joe" as this is petty but it is funny to see the story. I wonder what will happen in the end. I have not looked a contract nor am a lawyer so not sure what the contract claims or if they will amend it at all. I would just want to take the payout and move on.

Something I'm curious about is whether the court is actually fining them per the court agreement on the claims that are out of date such as mine. If so I should get that money not the court lol. I know it doesn't work that way but it should I wonder if I could sue the court for my portion of that money.

"...if Settling Defendants fail to initiate offers of the Buyback or the Lease Termination within 15 Days of the Effective Date... unless such time is extended in writing by EPA/CARB, Settling Defendants shall pay the following Stipulated Penalty for each Day the offer is delayed: $10,000 1st through 14th Day $25,000 15th through 30th Day $50,000 31st Day and beyond"
