I'm looking into purchasing 2 drain plug LED. I have been looking at boatpluglight.com
Specifically the Typhoon model drain plug.
Has anyone use this in the past? Any reviews?

I was actually looking at the same webpage and found that another member had installed the transom version because he was told that the drain plug lights would not fit a Yamaha. I just emailed the company to see if that is still the case or not.

Additionally I think the masses of drain plug LED people tend to gravitate to the 4000 lumen light, especially if you're inland. I see you're from south FL so maybe 1000 would be good for your waters. When I get a response from the company I'll post back and let you know what they said.

cheers

So I contacted the seller, his contact info is on his Web page, and he did say they do not work on plastic drain plugs, you must convert them to:
1/2 NPT GARBOARD DRAIN

I have to admit, since I bought my new boat I've only seen it twice and neither time did I look at the drain plug, so I'm not sure what the 192 has

Now looking at the picture I posted of the plastic drain plug, i need to see if I have enough space to put in a brass 1/2 drain, it is right below the step and its a tigth fit.

So I purchased the gardboar drain plug assemblies from home depot $8/each.
I brought them home and check the the how they measured against the factory plastic drain plugs:

PERFECT FIT

So I went ahead and replaced both plastic drain plug to brass plugs.
Cleaned out the old clear silicone

Drilled 3 new holes for the new drain

Applied 3M Marine sealant 5200

Installed 3 new screws20151103_182126.jpg
Cleaned off the excess sealant.

Done!

Wow that looks easy enough! Did you have any issues getting the old one out ? I have to say the brass ones look much more sturdy

They came off pretty easy after removing the screws, they had some clear silicone that made it easy to remove.

because of the pictures I added to the FAQ for transom plugs, looks good, thanks

Don't know yet, I should have them by tomorrow. I'll post pictures.

Perfect thanks, looking at their online pictures it appears they don't which is confusing to say the least

Why is it confusing? The brass plug for my drain doesn't have an O ring. The drain plug light is a swap for your existing plug. I don't think there is surface material between which an O ring would get compressed to provide a seal. I know on my Diablo (an older version) drain plug light an O ring would provide zero protection against a leak.
