Wondering if one can make money buying up boats in drought stricken areas cheaply and shipping them to other areas for a profit? I guess you would need some scale to do this...at least a couple truckloads.

Not even sure if drought area prices are reflecting the dry lake status...would take some research...

Not that I am thinking about doing this...just curious if boat dealers take the opportunity...

A buddy of mine made a few bucks in the recession by going to Florida and Georgia and buying boats at auction and bring them to oklahoma to sell (oklahoma was not effected by the recession nearly as much as the east and west coast).

He did it about 5 times and after gas and travel expenses he averaged about 3 grand a boat profit, until he bought a 30 foot sea ray that he couldn't sell for almost two years. 24 foot plus boats are a small market out here.
