Hi,
As our ECU is broken and as the part is back order without any back in stock date, we decided to give a try to open it and see what the problem is!

Any idea of what we could use to dissolve what’s left of the « protection »? We were able to remove most of it, but now that we’re getting closer to the electronic part, we can’t scratch anymore.

@Babin Farms had condensation not salt crystals in his. That can't be good.

That is brutal. I don't see how that could be saved. Maybe check out some youtube videos? TheHullTruth? Boat Salvage guides of some sort?

I would also figure out how it got this bad.

I doubt that it is salvageable. Every picture I've seen of a repaired ECU they cut it open from the top side , repair and then weld the plastic back together. Never seen one tore apart from the bottom.

Just got my ECU back from repair and they do open it from both sides.

We were able to clean it and to remove all the salty crystals. Nothing obvious seems broken ?.
