While I was piddling around with the ski today, I noticed a whole bunch of extra space behind the glovebox. So, I thought to myself "Self, you should make your glovebox bigger". Well, yes I should, that's a great idea, me.

I've got a good idea to make it work, just having difficulty finding the exact storage bin I can mate to it. I'll attach a pic of one I found, which is almost perfect, but I figured throw it out to the masses first and see if anyone had a better suggestion. My idea with the one I attach here is basically cut out the back of my glovebox, and 5200 this one in place. I've got a 3" or so high styrofoam insert that will go into the front portion and help serve as a partition between the 2 spaces. Basically, just giving a little extra room for phone in a drybag, gloves, goggles, whatever. Can't complain about more space!

How about the bag thingy that has a screw on plate and has the dry bag on the side behind the wall?

I'll try to find it and post link.

I like @Murf'n'surf idea as its biggest advantage is it will fit back in the stock hole. To try and fabricate something to slide back in that stock hole that adds space will be difficult. unless you cut a hole and add something to the stock glove box which could be done.

That was my plan @robert843 , just to add onto the stock glovebox, but dam if that @Murf'n'surf ain't a brilliant sumbitch! I like it. Gonna order one and give it a go. Looks like I can just barely squeeze a 5" in there.

Love the idea. I may have to do the same..

Ok Im intrigued. I need to see this happen, then steal your idea, lol.

I ordered 2! Just waiting for them jokers to arrive. Tracking info is still just sitting at "label created" .......

I have always increased the storage under the hood on my Yamaha skies , simply pull out the 4 plastic grommets that secure the back firewall then push that firewall back toward the gas tank area , after you move it back several inches , drill 4 new grommet holes and put in the original grommets. Only takes 5 minutes and you don't need to buy anything.
