I just purchased a AR195 and trying to find the best place to mount my fire extinguishers. Yamaha has two stickers of where they should be placed on by the battery and one in the storage place under the radio. I'm having trouble finding a good mounting point that would not result in me drilling into an area that would expose the screw. Looking for suggestions and pictures of what others have done. Thanks in advance.

@DavisAR195 - I don't have any pics right now but I placed mine: 1 - at the helm, 1 - under the port aft seat over the batteries.

The seat back there has a 1/2 - 3/4" board that should easily support the fire extinguisher. I've had mine mounted back there for over two years now with no complications.
I should be able to get some pics by the weekend.

Having same issue as @DavisAR195 In the 19 foot boats there isn't much room near the battery except with a finished wall on the other side. Wondering if epoxy or glue to the back side of fiberglass would damage or warp the fiberglass on the finished side? If not I would let the floor hold the weight of the extinguisher and glue the bracket to the back side of the fiberglass just left of the door opening.

@gsbrown @DavisAR195 Guys how big is the cushion that is over the batteries? I attached mine to the underside of that cushion. That position provides easy access and does not protrude into the (limited) storage area around the batteries.

I am thinking about using a few of the extra adhesive brackets that came with my GoPro (I just can't get myself to use a drill in the boat yet)... thinking of trying right on the inside of the door for quick access... my worry is if I need it in a hurry getting it out by the batteries where people may be sitting would take extra time...Just my 2 cents..

My dealer included one extinguisher, but it says "fire extinguisher" in two places. How many did you get @malibu Dan @DavisAR195 and is it required to have two?

I have the AR190. I had same issue and a couple of techs from my dealer stopped by to install a piece of seadeck that was wrong when I picked it up. I asked them and they had me attach it to the little lip that comes up from the floor in by the battery and storage where stickers are. (Towards midfle of the boat) One year down and no issues. Very thick part of fiberglass. Sorry no pics as my boat is in storage 90 miles away.

I have just 1 onboard... (all that is required)... I think I can get from the "bow" to the "stern" with just a single extinguisher in hand....

I just have 1 and that's all that required by lay and thought about removing the stickers. @N140 I will take a look at that spot, the only other place I thought about was under the throttle.

In my 2014 212x I epoxied a piece of 3"x6" cutting board that I doubled up for thickness to inside of the storage compartment to the lower left side of the wall just inside the door. I used a high strength epoxy and then stainless screws to then mount the bracket to the cutting board that came with the fire extinguisher. The bottom of the fire extinguisher actually sits on the floor so the bracket really just keeps it upright and doesn't support much weight. Easy access if it is ever needed just inside the door to the left but out of the way as well. Has held for 3 years with no issues.

Used this same concept to mount a power distribution block for my amps.

I bought Velcro that had 3m adhesive on the backside and wrapped it around the fire extinguisher and just stuck to the floor near the battery and one in the helm. They stay put very well and are easy to remove in an emergency.

On my 212X I put one bottle in the fwd starboard locker, screwed to the bottom of the compartment where the anchor light post used to be stored (light relocated to the tower). I put a second bottle under the driver's seat, screwed the bracket to the seat bottom, upside down. I did not want to have a bottle near my engine or batteries, figured those places are likely to be where a fire starts so hard to access if on fire!
