Speaking of snakes, I guess being bitten by one gives you the desire to eradicate them.

Dear God I hate snakes!! I kill every damn one of them that gets on my property. I heard you can spray them in the face with Wasp/Hornet Spray and it will kill them, have you ever tried it?

As you can see, my Dad prefers a hoe. Growing up on a farm I have used blunt instruments many times but as an adult a 45 is typically the closest and most appropriate tool. We only kill venomous snakes that threaten our families or livestock.

I have never tried wasp spray on a snake. A hoe or 45 takes the head off pretty quickly but the head often continues biting. I would not want that process to last any longer.

I use dish soap mixed with water in a garden sprayer for wasps. Wasps breathe through their skin. The soap coats their skin and they die.

I use a floor scraping tool with a long handle that I put a sharp edge on the blade, does the trick. I would rather use my 9mm, but one of my neighbors is not too gun friendly, the rest of them are gun friendly. Plus we have the you cannot shoot within a 1/4 mile of an occupied structure law.

I can use the defense angle of "I feared for my life with this rattlesnake 2 Ft away from me" that is legal Lol.

That snake had a gun.. I was in fear for my life!

Snake has fangs filled with poison, same thing Lol. I have a neighbor who is a Sheriff, he said I could use that angle or just buy a suppressor!

I use an Adventure Medical Kit that's good for several people for a few days. Part of my spring start-up is to check the kit for supplies each year. Your local REI usually carries a good selection of these kits for backpacking, outdoors, and such and is a good place to go compare the kits for what you think is sufficient for where you boat and have access to medical help.

I started with a cheap Wal-Mart FAK from Johnson & Johnson. I added a bunch of 4x4s, gauze, tape, some medical super glue, a bunch of sample packages of different meds and 2 Isreali Bandages (4 inch). Just in case.

Last year a member of our group caught a full unopened beer can with her forehead and the superglue came in handy as she could have used a few stitches.
