I have a question about hooking a Fusion IP600 to a Wet Sounds HT-4 (or comparable) amp and maintaining the zone control on the HU.

The HU has 3 zones but only 1 line out that is supposed to be used with an amp.

I would like to connect all cabin and transom speakers to the amp and maintain zone control. The amp has no speaker level inputs (only 2 pair inputs)

If I only use the line out all speakers would be on the 1 zone.

How can I maintain the 3 zones. Or most likely in my situation I would have the cabins on 1 and the transom on the 2nd. So I would really only need 2 zones at this point.

Can I use some type of line converter to convert the speaker connections from the HU to RCA jacks? How will this affect the signal?

Or am I better off finding a HU with more line outs or add my own volume zone control?

This might be an easy answer so please excuse this guys lack of knowledge in this area.

Thanks
Mike

I have same head unit.

You are right the Zone 3 is the only zone with line out. Zones 1 and 2 are powered at 45 watts per output.

In my setup, I have two cabin speakers (cuddy) powered by head unit, 2 cockpit speakers are also powered by zone 2 from head. Zone three line out and sub line out are ran to 4 ch amp. I have 4 speakers on zone 3 powered through the amp, and on other amp zone I bridged it and set filters for sub. It sounds great. The head unit gives more than most and unless you are going really high powered it will suffice. My amp is rated for 500 amps.

I've contemplated more power, but honestly it's more than enough. It's better than all my other stereos that I own. A shame really, as I spend far less time on the boat than my daily driver, lol.
