That's a bugger Ronnie. On the 242, that remote is in definite kicking range all the time. I have kicked the knob off once, and kicked it in to the point that It would not click to select anything.

So now, I keep the silicone cover on it at all times. Unless we are in the water, then it sits in the cup holder. I love the remote, but it is the one downfall of that location on our boats.
