I have a Garmin 94sv and saved my track going out the river to the bay. I want to be able to follow it when I go out again. Our river is shallow and I had a skipper along with local knowledge.
I want to use the track as a “template” until I get comfortable with the route. I don’t want to continue adding my “active track” (current trip) to the saved track.
How do I accomplish this?
Garmin manual leaves a lot to be desired!
Thanks

it saves your track until you clear it, the problem with it is the more track you make it could get messy in the screen. If you have auto-guidance use it, as long as your chart covers your waterways, you can see where to go (like a highway in your car GPS)

Not sure if I have auto-guidance, will check.
I’m doubtful the map has coverage, but will also check. Thanks Capt

I talked with Garmin support today and they suggested saving the Track as a Route. (I plan to save it several times with different names) Then bring up the Route as a template. The active Track will show and allow me to follow the Route. Support wasn’t sure if the active Track would remain on the Route after the trip.
If not, then the Route is a re-usable template.
If the Track remains on the Route, then next time I will use a different Route I saved.
Will let you know what happens.
