GoPro - Need help selecting

I like it but don't think I would get my money's worth out of it. On a semi related note I got a used Polaroid cube from a member here and love it.

The fact that it doesn't have an LCD or remote is no big deal but the removal of the hdmI port is a negative too me since I have used it to play / show raw video on tvs in the past.

I have the HDMI port on my 3+ Black, but never bothered buying a cable for it as I had no idea how to playback the files. Is there a playback menu on the camera? Since it has no LCD, I had never tried. Can you control playback from the remote or iphone app?

I did try looking at my files in the app, but it actually downloaded them through WiFi to the phone and that was painfully slow.

Thanks for the help!

You can play videos directly from the camera and I believe you can better control the playback from a smart phone or tablet but you battery will die a lot faster. Control from the camera is limited to selecting and playing an entire clip. You will need a mini hdmi to standard hdmi cable to do this.

I've never been a gopro fan. I've always used the contour roam cameras I think they look better and work better. I know the military uses them as helmet cams also. I've had mine for years attached to my snowmobile helmet and never a problem. I had I knocked off once by a large branch going about 40mph and then get run over by 2 people following me and it still worked fine, just wish I had it on when it happened!!
