This is a replacement cover for Yamaha part number F2D-U8K1L-00-00 also known as SANAV part number GM-88U.

It is a new design that includes an optional external seal. If you do not wish to use the external seal it is recommended to use silicone caulk to seal between the plastic case sections and around the heads of the screws. It is printed from PETG plastic which should hold up well to sun exposure and resist impact.

How do these Krylon colors look to you? The best way might be to order a white cover and spray it any color that you want.

I hear that Krylon Fusion sticks well to the PETG and it would offer additional UV protection.

I’ve used Krylon before on plastic and while it looks good initially it eventually peels.

The factory housings are made from a plastic that becomes brittle and discolored after sun exposure chasing them to frequently fail.

The GPS unit is secured by two screws that come up out of the helm compartment. Then four screws hold the cover on.

If yours is in good condition I would not mess with it as it likely is brittle.
