As the title states I made a knuckle head move and folded back the third layer of the tonneau cover with the locking handle pointed down instead of folding in. Was night and couldn’t see as well as we had just returned from a trip to the lake.

The hole goes all the way through and let’s water into the bed of the truck.

There are so many new products like flex seal tape and flex seal all kinds of stuff. Or maybe I’m not on the right train of thought for how to repair it.

I’ll attach some pics let me know your thoughts on how you would go about trying to attempt to repair this on the top side and underside.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm super impressed by FlexSeal Tape. I'd buy a black roll of it and patch from the bottom - probably all you need to do.

I would put Tear Aid on both sides of the hole. There are two types, one for vinyl and one for fabric. The small kits are about $10 each.

Other possible alternatives are to only put tear aid, an iron on patch or duct tape on the inside of the cover so nothing is seen but possibly a crease on the outside. 308D5549-C455-47D1-BE73-64405A99BFDA.png

Shoe Goo might help

Just did Flex Tape seal black on the bottom. Had to remove a section of harder material from the bottom to gain access to the vinyl part to patch. I’m happy with the results just hope it holds up over time and rain storms when it’s not in the garage and out and about. You would have to be really looking for it to notice it from the top now. Thanks for the tips.

Keep a roll of the wide flex tape on your boat it works underwater also.

Got stuck in my first rainstorm yesterday and bummed to report the piece underneath held but leaked. Was hoping that would be the end of it but guess I need to have the eye sore of the piece on top of the cover as well. Or maybe a little of that shoe goop someone posted in this thread smeared on the top in the hole.
