Helm floor drain

Was looking at the floor drain install in the helm area and I always seem to have about a 1/4 of water sitting down there. The floor drain was installed about 1/2 off the floor so obviously will never drain completely. I thought about installing a piece of Seadek on the floor to bring the floor level up closer to the bottom of the drain. Or possibly just drill a 1" diameter hole in the floor and place a stainless drain cover over it. Just curious if anyone else has made any changes with the floor drain in this area?

Are you talking about the changing room under the console? Or on top of the deck, where you stand?

Going to put the plugs in and see if the water is coming out of the drains first. And see what I get. Some have suggested its water trapped beneath the floor liner trapped in the hull coming out of the drains being I have the plugs out. I guess my original thought of leaving the plugs out so that the water could drain out maybe flawed. Or should I say Yamaha's drain system is flawed ..

The plugs in the past have to be removed then installed with silicon sealer. Leave the plugs in while using the boat so water can't come up through them.

That's what I was going to try. So it basically works backwards. If its that simple I will be a happy man. My last bay boat had scupper drains below the waterline so when more than one person stood at the back of the boat water would come up through the floor drains. Sometimes I wonder how they come up with these ideas. Thanks for your help!
