I just got around to changing my scupper to a stainless steel one, upon inspecting it and around the jet pumps it looks like there is another tiny drain coming from the clean out hatch. Do these have a problem with being brittle and breaking as well? Its right above the jet pump. Looks just like a scupper but around 3/4" in diameter.

The scupper is exposed to UV more than that one, but they're both plastic, and damage can occur where it's not noticeable. A metal fitting should remove the possibility of the fitting being a silent problem. In the grand scheme of things, it's $20 towards less stress

Well done! Was the removed plastic scupper brittle at all?

Replacing the plastic fittings at or near the water line is a good idea especially as time passes.

Curious if the scupper needs to be looked at on my 2012 242 LS. Where are they located on that model?

When i removed the nut to loosen the scupper it cracked right in half with very little forced lol

Here’s a pic of my 2012. Ours remain above water when not in motion so I’m not too concerned about it taking on water. I have a stainless steel one for a replacement but I’ve never gotten to it yet. Hopefully that should relieve you of much concern.

You should replace it, those are the ones know to break off and it will sink your boat. If you have it, don't wait till its broken, replace it now

That’s exactly where my 2011 242 Limited S scupper valve was. You should definitely replace it… I barely looked at mine the wrong way when replacing it and it broke right off. It is very easy to replace. It is barely over the waterline and does go under the waterline at times I wouldn’t mess with it.
